Anchorwoman—Kim (Selma Blair) sets out to be the new anchorwoman for the local news station and Kath (Molly Shannon) does everything in her power to make her daughter’s dream come true. Meanwhile, Craig (Mikey Day) accidentally hits Phil’s (John Michael Higgins) prized car Little Debbie and then inadvertently gets it confiscated by the police.
Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live) and Selma Blair (Legally Blonde) star as the hilarious and iconoclastic mother-daughter duo living it up in suburbia. Kath & Kim focuses on Kath (Shannon), a cheerful, foxy forty-something and her self-absorbed daughter Kim (Blair). They have the love/hate, push/pull dysfunctional relationship that only a mother and daughter could share. Kath finally finds love in the form of a sandwich shop owner named Phil Knight (John Michael Higgins, Best in Show). Kim, newly separated from her husband of six weeks Craig (Mikey Day, MTV’s Short Circuitz), moves back home and puts a damper on Kath’s new romance. They may play on each other’s nerves, but in the end they are always brought together by their love for one another and their mutual appreciation for the finer things in life; like acrylic nails, big hair and faux diamond chips.
